Sydney Redden is a photographer that explores alternative subcultures such as gamers, skaters, and artists with a saturated color palette and dramatic lighting and more recently she is photographing her resurfacing passion in the sport of NASCAR.
She is currently based in Upstate South Carolina after receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Ringling College of Art and Design in May of 2022. Her area of study was in Photography and Imaging and Graphic Design.
Some of Sydney’s recent exhibitions include her senior thesis presentation of Says Who? in the Lois and David Stulberg Gallery in 2022, Shonagai at the Deborah M. Cooley Photography Center in 2022 and Spectrum also at the Deborah M. Cooley Photography Center in 2021.
Sydney grew up competing in beauty pageants from the age of six weeks up until she was fourteen. As she got older, she developed an interest in the contraption that was needed to take headshots for said pageants. Ultimately causing her to move behind the camera instead of in front of it. Photography has been her passion ever since.
